™ØW¥ 2016

Tommy (2016) is a revisited self-portrait that acts as a timeline rather than a specific instant in time.  For this work, I created a program through MAX msp to decide the colour, size, and composition of 36 different characters retrieved from a photographic portrait of myself.  These characters symbolize the time that has passed as well as reference the change in myself.  My piece explores the relationship and roles between an artist and technology.  By incorporating increasingly automated processes, the nature of this relationship is both interdependent and evolutionary.
